Trading with Global Markets – Is it Safe?

Global Markets, a contracts-for-difference broker, made waves in early 2019 after debuting in the Forex trading industry. The platform offers various investment products and is aimed at investors of all experience levels. Global Markets is available on PC and mobile, as well as through any contemporary web browser such as Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge, or Google Chrome. The broker provides services to South-East Asia, most of Europe, and some of the most dynamic Forex markets worldwide, such as Japan, Mexico, and Australia (but excluding the US).

In this review, we are going to take an in-depth look at the various financial products Global Markets has to offer; its platform, safety level, interface, and ease of use. We will also test Global Markets on both mobile and web, and provide information on expected fees, spreads, and commissions.

  • Is it Safe?

Global Markets is not a scam, but a genuine CFDs trading service. Registered in the Seychelles, it is regulated by the financial authorities of the island nation. The platform provides services to over 30 countries worldwide, and is licensed to operate in every one of those jurisdictions. Global Markets is fully compliant with international anti-money laundering requirements, and is a 100% legit broker.

The platform has implemented rigorous mechanisms to ensure the security of your funds and data. In addition to all regulation-mandated security measures, Global Markets has a Negative Balance Protection policy, which prevents you from ever owing money to the broker due to a bad leverage or trade. With Negative balance protection, your account balance can never go below zero, and you can never lose more money than you have deposited in your account.

In addition to that, all accounts on Global Markets are segregated – trader’s funds are kept separate from company money. Such measures help the identification of capital ownership in the unlikely event ownership information is lost, and prevent trader’s funds being used for any other purposes than those intended by the investor.

Traders who wish to increase the security of the account can enable a two-factor authentication security layer. With a two-factor authentication, users will be sent a secret code they need to enter each time they try to log-in.

  • Online Academy

One of the most appealing aspects of Global markets is its Trading academy. The library of learning resources includes video tutorials, e-books, and live one-on-one sessions with Global Markets experts. The main goal of the academy is to teach rookie investors the basic concepts of CFDs and Forex trading, but the list of subjects covered ranges from Investment and Futures to Cryptocurrency and Advanced Economics.

  • Demo Account

Investors can also open a demo trading account and practice their skills using virtual money. The demo account offers an environment with real market conditions. Creating a demo account is a useful way to experience trading with Global Markets before you commit to the platform. Register your demo account today, and check Global Markets’ platform for free.

Global Markets is licensed to operate in almost all countries within the European Union, as well as South-East Asia, Japan, Australia, and more. However, the platform does not provide services to traders from the US, due to regulatory reasons.

Trading accounts on Global Markets are available in three currencies – USD, EUR, and GBP. There are no differences between accounts that use any of the currencies. However, any transactions from and to your account will be converted to the currency you’ve opened an account with. For example, if you use a bank account in JPY to deposit funds to your USD Global Markets account, your bank will convert your Yen into Dollars during the transaction. This might lead to unexpected currency exchange fees – it is advised you use either a same-currency/multi-currency bank account, or register for a banking solution such as Revolut or Transferwise.

  • Account Tiers

Global Markets accounts are come in four distinct tiers, with some products and tools exclusive to higher-tier traders. • Withdrawing

Global Markets is subject to rigorous international anti-money laundering regulations. In accordance to these regulatory requirements, investors can only ever withdraw money to sources they’ve already deposited funds from – e.g., you will not be able to withdraw money to your PayPal account if you haven’t used it to deposit money to your trading account.

Withdrawal requests are processed within 7 business days and require a copy of a photo ID document, as well as a bank statement. There are no fees applied on withdrawing money.

  • Target Spreads

Global Markets does not impose fees on transactions done from or to your trading account – and there are no commissions on trading, either. Instead, the broker relies on spreads. The advantage of using spreads over commissions is that it gives you the ability to leverage.

  • Interface

Global Markets uses SIRIX – a powerful Forex trading interface with built-in social trading. SIRIX is developed by Leverage and is preferred by Forex brokers for its powerful functionalities, clean interface, and customizable layout.

Global Markets’ platform retains most of these features, though it sacrifices some of the more complex customization options for a more simplified experience, aimed at inexperienced traders. That’s not to say the platform itself has been simplified – on the contrary. Traders have access to all the necessary tools to make informed decisions, and there are over 30 visualization options, ranging from line graphs and candlesticks to Williams Accumulation Distribution and TRIX.

What’s missing from the interface is the clutter. When you log into your account, you are greeted with a single candlestick visualization, and a list of products on the left. In addition to that, your opened positions and account balance are always visible on the bottom. The layout is never more complicated than this set up, but you can easily populate it with various graphs, customizable labels, and more.

  • Platforms

The SIRIX interface is available on multiple platforms – including Windows, Mac, Androids and iOS – but software installations are not required – you can access the trading environment through any popular web-browser.

Android and iOS mobile device owners can also download a proprietary app on their phone which facilitates faster trading. The layout has been kept mostly the same, but adapted for flawless navigation on the smaller screen. The mobile apps make trading-on-the-go truly easy – download Global Markets today from Google Play or the App Store.

  • Final Conclusion

Global Markets is a promising new CFDs broker with a powerful trading interface, a variety of investment products, and a comprehensive online academy. The trading environment, powered by SIRIX, is available on both desktop PC and mobile, and switching between the two is straightforward.

No matter the device, Global Markets is the perfect partner for investors of all experience levels. Join Global Markets today – and choose from over 100 investment products to add to your portfolio!
